Spring 2010
This story began when a child who loved to create decided to get a degree in advertising because she didn't think she could make a living as an artist.
The journey continued through multiple careers from graphic design to interior design and even led to some acting in Los Angeles which, funny enough, was the catalyst that brought Marisa back to trusting her own creativity.
Slowly, but surely, everything on the journey thus far began to make sense. It was all for something and what started out as one day a week (Thursdays) set aside to be a bit more creative while working a 9 to 5 job-- Creative Thursday has become a full-time business featuring the art of Marisa Haedike. In other words, an unlikely path to a longheld dream.
Marisa has finally found her way back to the work she truly loves: creating from a place of passion and genuine inspiration.
An entrepreneurial spirit who will never be boxed in, Marisa works in all creative mediums, from acrylic painting, to clay, to textile creations and design, to writing (she just authored and illustrated her first children's book) Marisa is also to voice to the Creative Thursday blog and podcasts that encourage and inspire everyone to follow their creative dreams.
Having finally reached the place in her career where she feels that she can actually walk the walk that she has been talking, Marisa is honored and thrilled to be sharing her passion and all she has learned (so far!) on this creative journey through her classes here at Squam.
