Self-realization. Purpose. Joy. Mindfulness. These are the reasons Michelle practices and teaches yoga. She is on a journey of self-inquiry, loves to move her body, loves to get quiet and, most importantly, loves to share it all.
Yoga found Michelle, nearly a decade ago, when she was recovering from a broken leg that came about because she clearly wasn't listening to her own inner wisdom. Yoga helped her clear a path to living fully, with gratitude and purpose. She received her teacher training certification at the Nosara Yoga Insititute.
Michelle's teaching style focuses on sensation and breath, on tuning-in, noticing and listening to the inherent wisdom of your own body. She is inspired by physical alignment and it's effect on the subtle energy system of the body. Her classes are a mix of ritual and variety that encourage you to come home to the familiar environment of your body, yet expand your understanding of your own personal edges.
In addition to her beloved teachers at Nosara, Don and Amba Stapleton, Michelle has studied with Sharon Gannon, Seane Corn, Naime Jezzeny, Gurumukh and is always looking forward to her next learning experience! Michelle is the owner of Outer Banks Yoga in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.
