Julia Shipley is a writer, farmer and poet, married to six acres and one man.
She’s a contributing editor to Yankee, where she tells stories about Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom and beyond. Her writing has also appeared in Taproot, The Burlington Free Press, The Boston Globe, Orion, Northern Woodlands and Vermont Life among many other local and national publications.
Her first book, Adam’s Mark, a love story about discovering connections between the endeavors of writing and farming, was named a 2014 Best Book About New England by the Boston Globe.
She believes everyone’s stories are necessary, and she’s naturally gifted at helping participants beachcomb life’s moments, memories and episodes and pocket them on the page.
