My love of photography started at a young age. Growing up in Rochester, NY, my mother built a darkroom in our basement. She was studying photography at the time and my sister and I were her favorite subjects.
I always had a camera in hand, but it wasn’t until after graduating from Skidmore College that I thought of it as a career path. That summer I was offered two jobs, one as a Whitewater Raft Guide and the other as an Event Photographer. I often wonder what my life would be like if I chose rafting, I certainly wouldn’t be living in Brooklyn.
New York has been the best home for me as a photographer. From Portraits to Still Life, Food and Events, the city is full of inspiration.
Some of the highlights of the job are being able to capture important moments in people’s lives, helping companies tell their stories through images, and eating the props on a food shoot.
“Tory’s calming energy is contagious. She makes everyone feel comfortable,
capturing candid moments that truly tell a story.
Tory’s aesthetic is a balance of modern and classic,
giving her images a sense of timelessness.”
