After years in a most fabulous job with The Color Association, Karyn Valino left NYC and returned home to Toronto. Her dream was to set up a maker/space and in 2007 she opened the doors to the workroom.
the workroom is a source of pure inspiraiton as is Karyn. Honestly, I am so not kidding that she is lucky I do not live in Toronto — I would TOTALLY stalk her.
(of course, I do follow her on IG and fb and cannot possibly believe she makes as much as she does as exquisitely as she does– seriously– there must be elves!)
In addition, Karyn has built a gorgeous community both in-person and online.
And, could there be a dog with better taste in fabric? I think not . . .
All joking aside, it was such a genuine pleasure to get to know Karyn better and hear all about her most beloved mentor, Margaret Walch. As you will see, Margaret was a most extraordinary woman who opened the door to a wild world full of color and adventure that had a lifetime imprint on Karyn’s journey in this world.
Although Margaret’s books are long out of print, I wanted to share them here as I feel certain after you listen to this call, you will be interested to take a look at them.
