Yesterday, in support of International Women’s Day and the call to action #DayWithoutAWoman, we postponed our weekly chat but today we have the most perfect follow-up to that day of reflection: hanging on the dock with KELLEN MEYER. As you will hear, Kellen is a wife and the mother of four children who makes her home in Santa Barbara, CA.
She is also a wildly creative spirit who has always been a maker and recently, in collaboration with her two beloved aunties, Kellen launched an online shop and artist collective: Honey & Oak.
As her children are getting older and needing less of her constant supervision, Kellen is spending more time in her studio and has begun hosting creative meet-ups as well as her monthly bookclub for people who need a little bit more magic in their day. I loved chatting with Kellen because her viewpoint is so grounding. Kellen has lived through so much but always shows up to whatever life is throwing at her with grace, wisdom. Her world travels alone are dazzling, but most of all, for me, she is a shining example of “the art of living” : weaving spirit, energy, inspiration and play into normal, every day life.
There is so much ease, light and pleasure in the world she has created for herself and her family.
Lucky for her she is on the other side of the country or I’d be on her doorstep every day! 🙂
bisous, Elizabeth
