“What needs to be counted on to have a voice? Courage. Anger. Love.
Something to say; someone to speak to; someone to listen.”
– Terry Tempest Williams, When Women Were Birds: Fifty-four Variations on Voice
Come gather and make space for your breath. Sink into your truth. Know your voice.
This class is for the tender and the lion-hearted — for the ones who walk with an unbending knowing of the stories they long to tell and for the ones who are still grasping for the words. This class is for the ones ready to whisper the longings of their heart, rewrite the contour of their life, find language for all that wants to be said.
Using an eclectic mix of writing and creative exercises, we will reconnect with our senses, test the threads of memory, and word-dance toward our true knowing and tender voice. This experience is for writers of all levels.
It’s about crafting a personal relationship with your truth, your story, your words, your voice.
Please come dressed comfortably. I often incorporate gentle movement throughout the day to help integrate our processing. Any movement done during our time together will be suitable for all bodies and abilities.
Layers are also recommended as some of our activities might take us outdoors, weather permitting.
