Experience level: intermediate
Drawing from MaryJane’s book 150 Scandinavian Motifs, we will explore classic motifs found in Scandinavian stranded knitting as well as employ the traditional use of color. We will begin by learning a fun, tricky way to knit garter stitch in the round, as this is a common border in traditional vintage garments.

Things you will be learning:
- when and how to tack down extra-long floats
- the Norwegian purl
- how to combine motifs to create new ones
In this class, you will be designing a cowl that that uses whichever motifs and colors most speak to your heart.

Materials:
KIT includes 5 balls of Sandnes Garn Peer Gynt, a versatile DK weight yarn is spun with 100% Norwegian yarn plus some extra goodness.
- needles to match US 5 -dpn’s or magic loop and a 16” circular.
- Stitch Markers.
- Little scissors.
- Graph Paper and colored pencils, if desired.
