Sock Camp

Lindsay DegenOffered:
Thursday, May 15th
Friday, May 16th
Experience level: Advanced Beginner
Socks! What’s not to love? Nothing feels better on our feet. They can take an outfit to the next level. And, they’re super fun to make—especially in this workshop where Lindsay is going to encourage your creativity to cut loose.
Using Degen’s Vintage Taxi sock pattern, the class will begin by making a mini-sock version to ensure each step of the pattern is clear. Then, the creative adventure ramps up as we play with ALL the possibilities of color combinations, yarn, and patterning choices that the Vintage Taxi offers. The result will be a fresh, original pair of socks that delight you to your toes.
Over the course of the day, Lindsay will lead you through an exploration of the anatomy of different socks as well as teaching:
- short rows
- kitchener stitch
- stranded colorwork
Students need to be comfortable knitting in the round though it is okay if you prefer to work with magic loop or with double pointed stitches.
Kit fee: 15 USD
Materials:
The pattern will be provided to you in class.
In your kit will be the pattern, handouts and class notes, as well as some special notions.
Students are responsible to bring their own Knitting Kit (scissors, markers, paper, etc.)
