What is SQUAMLOVE Community?
NO ADS. NO ALGORITHMS
You could call it a private facebook, but there are no ads, no algorithms — so for me, it feels like a favourite coffee shop meets art studio. And because this is open to ALL, it is a global (online) neighborhood hangout with space for people to break off into their own groups, host events, share articles, photos, videos. If you want to offer classes, promote your work, create your own circles, you can do all of that and more.
It is designed for creatives so you will find places dedicated to ART, FIBER & TEXTILE LOVE, PHOTOGRAPHY, POETRY + WRITING, GARDENING, COOKING, but there is also a focus for PARENTING, TRANSITIONS, WELLNESS and SELF-COMPASSION. And that is just to start.
The beauty of this space is that it is YOURS to create.
Below is a peek into just a little bit of what is waiting for you.
Why now?
Over the years I have been asked to bring Squam online and I always shook it off because I truly felt that the Squam magic happens when we are all together in nature. But, given the world and how isolated people are — 40% of people who attend Squam come from outside the States and won’t be able to safely travel this year to join us at the lake, not to mention the economic impact the pandemic has wrought upon millions — genuine connection, meaningful conversation and the chance to take our creativity in new directions is needed, now more than ever.
As is the very clear need for strong, well-connected,
deeply nourished community.
I’m also kind of thrilled that, because it is online, it presents an opportunity for everyone who wants to join into this circle to have the opportunity to and that is what pushed me to make it happen.
